This story made me realize how different and awful our society would be if we were all the same. I didn't totally understand the moral of this story, I also feel like there might be more than one moral to this story. This story comes from so many different places, which makes it hard to focus on one point of the story. I was confused, and my mind was troubled by this story because of all the questions I had, and still have about it. Overall, I enjoyed this story, because it was different than things that i usually read.

Harrison Bergeron
"Harrison Bergeron" is a dystopian short story based in the year 2081, where all people are made to be equal. The people who are better than the others are given handicaps to keep them the same as the lowest people. Good looking people would wear masks to look the same as the ugly people, and people who were good at something, would hear an awful noise in their ear every few minutes to remind them to be average. This story brought up many questions because it was very different and sort of confusing. I had questions like, Who has Harrison, and why was he taken away?, Why did George always hear sounds in his ear? By the end of the story, these questions were answered in the text, so they are labeled as level one questions. The story answered that Harrison Bergeron was Hazel and George's son, and that he was taken away because he was attractive, seven feet tall, intelligent, and dangerous to the society. George heard a sound in his ear every few minutes to remind him to be average. There were also some questions that weren't answered by the end of the text like, Why was Hazel crying?, Why did Harrison and the ballerina kiss on the ceiling?, If only the good looking people wrote masks, wouldn't that contrast the people even more? These questions made me really think about the passage to try and find answers.
